Other ProgramsSpecialized interest groups, called HFMA Forums, serve members on the basis of their specific interests, complementing chapters which provide more generalized services on a geographic basis. The mission of forums is to provide these specialized services to achieve the unmet needs of specific subgroups of members who have common interests. HFMA has had a Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Forum and a Patient Financial Services Forum since 1990, and in 1995 opened a Managed Care Forum. Patient Financial Services Forum Managed Care Forum |

Managed Care Forum was organized in January 1995. A voluntary advisory group developed a plan and program for the new forum that focuses on HFMA members who are interested in managed care and its administration. In its fiscal year, the forum received nearly 1800 members, provided audio-teleconferences that served more than 100 persons each, and developed a newsletter that was delivered by facsimile. The forum is also developing an assistance program to chapters desiring to develop managed care committees. Return to top |
